Description
A postdoctoral position in computational cancer biology is available at Quebec Heart and Lung Institute Research Center (IUCPQ) in the labs of Dr. Venkata Manem and Dr. Philippe Joubert. We seek a highly motivated individual with a track-record of Machine Learning/Deep Learning model development applied to healthcare data. The successful candidate will address developing and applying Machine Learning/Deep Learning algorithms to extract relevant biological insights from imaging and pathological data of lung cancer patients.

Delirium is a condition that, when left unmanaged, is associated with increased mortality and longer hospitalization of patients in intensive care; therefore, its detection should be an integral part of care. It is characterized by confusion, anxiety and reduced alertness. It is estimated that 75% of delirium cases are not detected on admission to hospital. Detecting such an acute condition requires frequent monitoring of participants, which is labor intensive and requires expertise.
