The Portage Network's Curation Expert Group (GEC) invites you to its virtual meeting on research consent and data curation!

These sessions are organized by the GEC to establish a link with the broader sector of research data management and curation.

This meet-up will focus on the theme of Research Consent and Data Curation with a presentation from Victoria Smith, the Policy, Privacy, & Sensitive Data Coordinator at Portage Network. This session will include: 1) a quick introduction to research consent; 2) a summary of different models of consent; and 3) a discussion on consent language specific to data sharing including a review of the recommended consent form language from Part 3 of the Sensitive Data Toolkit.

They encourage participants to bring any examples of consent language they would like to discuss as there will be an opportunity for discussion and questions. The intention of this session is to improve curator confidence in interpreting and assessing consent language.

Detecting such an acute condition requires frequent monitoring of participants, which is labor intensive and requires expertise.
