Short targeted training courses on essential notions in health economics and economic evaluation adapted to the fields of expertise and research questions of the participants.

General objective of the workshop :

- Equip teams in the development of grant applications including components in health economics and economic evaluation in a context of patient-oriented research.

Specific objectives of the workshop :

- Presenting the economic paradigm in health services research;

- Introduce to the concepts of health economics and economic evaluation in research projects;

- Provide information on issues related to health economics and economic evaluation in the context of patient-oriented research;

- Stimulate networking and collaborations.

Delirium is a condition that, when left unmanaged, is associated with increased mortality and longer hospitalization of patients in intensive care; therefore, its detection should be an integral part of care. It is characterized by confusion, anxiety and reduced alertness. It is estimated that 75% of delirium cases are not detected on admission to hospital. Detecting such an acute condition requires frequent monitoring of participants, which is labor intensive and requires expertise.
